A Child’s closet can become easily disorganized and messy. There are, however, ways to control the mess and clutter. Once you implement a system, there is actually room for keeping your child’s closet nice and neat! Yes, there is hope.

Is the closet bar too high for your child to reach? Consider lowering the bar to a level that reaches your child nicely. If there is to too much room left after you have lowered the bar, you can add an additional bar for clothes that are not often worn, like special occasion dresses and jackets.

You can even add an additional shelf in place of bar once you’ve lowered it. You can use this extra shelf space for blankets, or other linens that go into your child’s room. This can help you get the room tidy and clean with everything you need on hand.

You can also invest in closet organizers. These organizers come in an assortment of designs and shapes. Find the one that best suits your organizational needs. This will make sifting through clothing to find a particular item a thing of the past.

For instance, if you have more than one pair of brown boots for your child, you know how easy it is to rummage through piles of shoes in order to find the right pair. Getting organized can take some of the responsibility off of you and pass it along to your child. When things are easily accessible and have a particular space, your child can begin learning to get dressed on their own.

Try investing in hanging cubes; these help keep the floor clear. Shoe racks and organizers can help separate the brown boot from the dress and play shoes. These organizers can give kids more control over their space. They can keep their things neat without having the excuse that they do not know where to put anything.

Every season rummage through your kid’s clothing. Get rid of clothes that no longer fit or worn out. Keeping clothes in the closet that your child does not wear is only a way for messes to form.

If toys are taking up space in the closet invest in large, clear plastic containers. This will give toys their own space, and make it easier for kids to clean up. And just like clothes, only keep toys that are in working order. Think about rotating baskets of toys in order to keep toys fresh and like-new to your kids.
