How To Cure Your Child’s School Phobia
School Phobia is one part of an anxiety disorder, but it is quite easily overcome.
When a child first goes to infant school it may well be the first time he or she has spent any significant length of time away from their mother. And unless they have been well prepared for this, it can be a traumatic time.
Most children will soon settle in to the new routine, and the distraction of new playmates and new activities will stimulate them and give them enjoyment. If the teacher is friendly and pro-active too, the child will usually then come to look forward to going to school and gain a sense of achievement from the experience, thus building self-confidence.
Unfortunately, it is not always that simple and straightforward. If separation anxiety does set in, the situation can get very stressful for all concerned. It can lead to a long-term reluctance to go to school and even to socialise at all. Even if the parent is kindly and understanding about this condition, the child may not respond in a positive fashion, and that kindness may even fuel the problem.
This fear of leaving mother at the school gates can then escalate into a real School Phobia. And of course, this is not because there really is anything scary about school itself, but the fear overcomes any assurance that ‘everything will be alright’. Eventually, fear of the fear is generated and the child becomes lost in a vicious circle of fear and anxiety.
School Phobia is an anxiety conditon that is very stressful for the child and distressing for the parent too, as they often cannot bear to leave their unhappy child. It is hard to leave a screaming child with a hapless teacher or assistant, and staying at home is not an option because then the child’s education is disrupted. Quite apart from that, the parent may have a job to go to, and frequent absence also puts that in jeopardy.
They will develop mysterious illnesses, pains, tiredness and other reasons why they should stay at home. At this point, the parent should ensure that they are not really in any pain, or suffering from an infection. Also check that there is not another reason for it, such as bullying at the school or elsewhere by other children.
But the biggest thing that needs to be done is to address the anxiety that is causing this School Phobia. Many parents will consult their doctor or a therapist, but if the medical profession or therapists have been consulted, there is a danger that medications have been prescribed. This is undesirable. Medications for anxiety, depression, panic attacks and other forms of mental trauma generally have unwanted side effects, and so a less invasive cure should always be sought first. It is much better to find a treatment that cures the underlying reason for the problem than to just treat the symptoms.
And of course, you want to avoid starting a child on any sort of medication if it is not absolutely necessary.
This is where a natural cure for your child’s school phobia is essential, and now the cure is easy to find. Therapy is an option, but may not follow the correct proceedure if the therapist is not well-versed in this particular type of problem. Back in the 1990′s a young man named Charles Linden suffered acute anxiety, depression, panic attacks and sociability problems.
Together with his parents he consulted many different therapists and doctors, but it was not until he developed his own methods that he cured his own anxiety problems: you may have a similar experience. This enabled him to socialise and lead a ‘normal’ life, as well as to lose the weight he had gained during his illness.
Since 1996, he and his company have helped 130,336 people worldwide, who were cured of their anxieties and phobias. Furthermore, trained staff are on hand to advise by telephone or email if you should need it, but the course is very easy to follow and very effective.
There is a version of the course that has two special CDs for young children to listen to, or the standard download package is equally suitable for adults and older children to read or be helped by a parent.
Whilst the original course was written for an adult it is equally effective for a child so, either way you have the means here to cure your child’s school phobia.
If you are buying something online, you want to have peace of mind that you are getting quality and value, and so Charles even offers a full 12 month money-back guarantee! You can download the course immediately, or have a printed manual and CD’s as well – it’s your choice.
