A Kid-Style Movie Day In A Kids Playhouse
Your child’s kids playhouse will be the hottest and coolest playhut on the block when it’s converted into the neighborhood movie theater. It will turn any day into a kid-friendly movie day that they will be able to enjoy with their friends. Here’s how to make it happen:
Have your child do a little survey to find out the favorite movies of the kids that he or she wants to invite. This will help to determine which films to rent or purchase for the movie event.
Use a photo or hand drawing of your child’s kids playhouse to make creative and movie themed invitations! To make the event more authentic, make a sign for the playhouse like “Mary’s Movie Playhouse” or “David’s Playhouse Cinema”.
Have lots of snacks that kids can either enjoy for free or that they can purchase during the film. Popcorn, juice boxes, boxes of raisins or home-baked cookies are some examples of kid-friendly snacks. If selling goodies for the movie, to keep it easy, price the snacks and beverages all at the same price.
You will need a projector, DVD player or laptop computer to play the movie. Have an older person like a teenager, to play the films. Don’t forget about seating. Decide if the kids will sit in chairs or on the floor. Either way, be sure that they are comfortable. It’s wise to plan for an intermission and a bathroom break so kids don’t feel like they missed the “good” part of the movie!
The kids playhouse should be off-limits to adults. Adults can be stationed outside of the playhouse for support and assistance. It’s a kids movie day, so if they want to watch a part of the movie over and over again, then let them! So…lights, playhouse, action!
