In Your Kids Playhouse Art Imitates Life
Watch a kids playhouse become an art haven with a little help from their closest buddies. Children are constantly creating, imagining, and making some type of “art”. For many people, art is very therapeutic. Whether making it or simply enjoying it, art holds a special place in their lives. That’s one reason why your child can take their love of art to the max by hosting an “Art Show” or neighborhood “Art Gallery” right in their kids playhouse. Children’s artistic talents can be showecased with the following tips:
Invite people to be a part of the show. A specific art work theme can be requested if you think your child will be doing this on a regular basis. Otherwise, let the kids know that anything goes in terms of the type of artwork they want to make!
Gather up all of the art. Set aside a small space in the outdoor playhouse for organizing the artwork. You can do this by using crates, boxes or a table. Keep it simple so that it won’t feel too much like “work” for the kids.
For each piece of art, have your kid make display tags using recycled materials. Start with index cards and markers or crayons, then fasten them onto cut pieces of cereal boxes for sturdiness. Use tape to post the art placecards near each submission.
Invite people to come to see the show! Although the space may be small in a kids playhouse, parents will certainly love viewing their kids art. Elderly neighbors may enjoy viewing the art work made by the kids.
Don’t forget your camera! Ask each artist to stand by their masterpiece and take their picture. Consider sharing the art work by taking pictures and posting them on your family blog or social media site. Your local newspaper may even be interested in covering the story for a community involvement piece.
The art show that your child will be putting together will be an amazing experience for everyone involved. As the walls, shelves, and floor of this small structure becomes covered with paintings, sculptures, and crafts, your child is likely to think of their kids playhouse in different terms. By putting together an art show, your child can get a deeper appreciation for art as well as gain a better understanding of the process and organization that goes into an art show!
