Complimenting your child’s outdoor playhouse and the space that it occupies is a lot simpler than you probably thought possible. All it takes is a little time and a lot of seeds! Yes, seeds. Your child can completely reconfigure the area around his or her playhouse by starting a vegetable and herb garden.

Here are a few reasons why you should really consider working with your child to convert that beautiful land into something extra special:

Get active with your child! You and your child will get a good workout as you dig, pull, and tend to the veggies and herbs that you are growing. Breathing that fresh air will be reinvigorating!  The amount of time that you spend could depend on the size of the space that you want to dedicate alongside your child’s outdoor play house.

Gardening will yield healthy foods or flowers that your family can enjoy!  Children that plant a garden alongside their playhouse will love being able to eat the foods that they worked so hard to cultivate.  Your child can plant many different vegetables, herbs or flowers that they normally wouldn’t be think about planting just because they aren’t familiar with that type of plant.

Your child can explore their creative side with a garden! Your child will get inspiration from their garden and will want to go to their special play house creative space.  Colors abound from bright red tomatoes that grow in clusters, beautiful deep purpled egg plants tops, yellow bell peppers and the multiple flowers that surround the wooden playhouse.  The fantastic array of colors around the playhouse will make your child want to spend hours in their very own garden.

When everything has begun to produce fruits, vegetables or herbs and the flowers have bloomed, you child and their outdoor playhouse will will be surrounded by an extraordinarily colorful environment. Your child will always remember their first garden next to their kid’s playhouse!
